Why rules exist at all
Random video chat only works when both people feel free to be themselves and free to leave. One person ruining a chat doesn't just spoil ten minutes — it makes the next stranger pay for it.
So the rules protect a simple deal: show up as yourself, respect the other person's boundaries, and the platform stays worth opening.
The core rules
Respect is the baseline
- Treat people decently — including when you're not interested.
- No harassment, slurs, or mocking someone's appearance, accent or background.
- A "no" — to anything — is a complete sentence.
Consent runs both ways
- Never pressure someone to turn on a camera, share contact details, or keep talking.
- Don't demand photos, proof, or performances.
- Ending or skipping a chat is always allowed — for both of you.
What's flatly prohibited
- Fraud of any kind: asking for money, gift cards, crypto, codes or passwords.
- Threats, blackmail, or sharing someone's private content without permission.
- Impersonating another person, or claiming to be imetzu staff.
- Spam, link pushing, or dragging people off-platform to dodge the report tools.
- Anything involving minors — full stop.
What happens when someone breaks them
Every report is reviewed with the context around it. Depending on what that review finds, consequences scale: a warning, feature limits, a suspension, or permanent removal from imetzu.
Two honest caveats. We don't promise a specific outcome or timeline before a review happens — and no platform catches everything. Your reports are how most problems surface at all, which is why they're worth the twenty seconds.
Age and eligibility
imetzu is for people who meet the eligibility requirements in our Terms of Service — that's the binding document, and this page intentionally stays the plain-language summary.
If you ever suspect someone in a chat may not meet the age requirement, end the conversation and report it. Don't keep chatting to gather proof.

Do the guidelines apply in private 1-on-1 chats?
Yes. Private means no audience, not no rules. The same standards apply to every chat, message and mode on imetzu.
Can I get in trouble for skipping too much?
No. Skipping is a normal, healthy part of random matching. What breaks the rules is pressuring someone who skipped or ended a chat.
What happens after I report someone?
Your report is reviewed with the surrounding context, and consequences range from a warning to permanent removal depending on what is found. We do not share what was done to someone else’s account.
Where is the legally binding version?
The Terms of Service is the binding agreement. These guidelines are the plain-language version of how to behave on imetzu.

Notice these rules don't ask you to be anyone else. No persona to perform, no script to follow — just the same decency you'd bring to a conversation in person.
