imetzu Privacy Policy

What imetzu collects when you video chat with strangers, what it's used for, and the levers you can pull yourself. Written to be understood on the first read.

1. What We Collect

Things you hand us

Account details when you register, whatever you choose to put on a profile, messages you send through the platform, purchase information when you buy coins, and anything you include when you contact support or file a report. Trying imetzu as a guest means handing over less — the anonymous video chat page explains how anonymity works on the product side.

Things your device tells us

The usual technical exhaust of running a website: browser and device type, IP address, a rough location inferred from it, which pages you opened, which features you used, and diagnostic data when something breaks. Nothing exotic — the information any web service needs to load pages and stay standing.

Your camera and microphone

Video and audio travel to the person you're matched with for as long as that conversation lasts. Your browser asks permission before either switches on, and you can revoke that permission at any time in its settings. Granting it is always your call.

2. Why We Collect It

• Running the product — accounts, matching, chat, and payments
• Keeping people safer — reviewing reports, investigating fraud and abuse
• Fixing and improving — seeing what's broken and what nobody uses
• Answering you — support, privacy and legal requests
• Meeting legal obligations — where the law requires records or disclosure

3. Cookies & Similar Technology

4. Who We Share With

Data moves off our servers in a small number of situations:

• Service providers — the companies that host the platform, process payments, and measure usage. They handle data under their own obligations, only to run their piece of the service.
• Other users — whatever you put on camera or in a profile is visible to the people you connect with. That's the product working, not a leak.
• Authorities — where the law requires it, or where it's necessary to deal with illegal activity or a genuine risk to someone's safety.
• A buyer — if the business or its assets ever change hands, user data would typically move with them.

One thing worth spelling out: a report you file goes to our review team. It is not forwarded to the person you reported as a message from you.

5. Your Choices & Rights

• Camera and mic — grant or revoke permission in your browser whenever you like; nothing on imetzu forces you on camera
• Cookies — clear or block them in your browser settings
• Your profile — add less, share less, edit what's there
• Blocking — cut off a specific person so they can't reach you again
• Access, correction, deletion — ask support and we'll act on the request

Depending on where you live, the law may give you additional rights over your data. When you write to us about one, contact us from the address on the account — we may need to check it's really you before acting, because that check is what stops a stranger requesting your data.

6. How Long We Keep It

Different data has different lifetimes. Account information stays while the account is active. Safety, fraud and billing records may be kept longer where a legal obligation or a dispute requires it. A single honest global number doesn't exist — anyone who quotes you one is guessing — so if you need to know about a specific case, ask.

7. How We Protect It

We take measures intended to protect data from unauthorised access, loss and misuse. And here's the part we won't dress up: no transmission or storage method is completely secure, and any service that claims otherwise is selling you something. Your half of the job is a strong, unique password and never sharing a verification code — including with anyone who claims to work for us, which is a classic scam pattern.

8. Where Your Data Goes

imetzu lives on the internet, and the companies that host and support it may process data in countries other than yours, where privacy law works differently. Using the service involves that transfer — it's how any online product with infrastructure abroad operates, and we'd rather say so plainly than bury it.

9. A Note About Minors

imetzu is for adults, as the terms of service set out, and it isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect a minor's information; if you believe someone underage is on the platform, report it or write to us and the account will be reviewed and removed.

10. Changes to This Policy

This policy changes as the product does. When a change is significant, we'll make it visible where we reasonably can. Using imetzu after an update means accepting the updated policy.
